JUNIOR SPORTSWEAR DESIGNER & PRODUCT DEVELOPER - CASUAL POSITION

Activewear, Sportswear, Underwear and Swimwear is the core of the innovative product we design & create at Modulus Design.

​

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic & focused junior designer / product developer to join our small but growing team.

 

This position is a flexible, casual role that can be worked around other study commitments, family needs, or other part time employment. Initially 10 - 12 hours per week with the potential to grow into a much larger role for the right candidate.

​

What you'll need to be considered for the role:

​

• Fashion Design education at a registered training institution

• Mid level Adobe Illustrator skills

• Photoshop, Indesign and Canva ideal but not essential

• Confidence using Excel to complete garment tech packs

• Understanding of apparel construction, fabric and trims knowledge (stretch knits, active sports and swimwear specific).

• A keen interest in fashion, sportswear and colour trends

• High attention to detail, excellent timeline management and organisational skills

• Previous experience working is activewear or sportswear design / development considered favourably

• Fluent English speaking and writing skills will be required

Your day to day role may include:

​

• Designing and illustrating garments (predominantly activewear, functional sportswear, general sportswear, swimwear, streetwear)

• Measuring samples

• Creating mood boards, story boards and colour palettes

• Creating illustrations of garment construction details to clearly communicate manufacturing requirements to garment makers

• Creating and updating tech packs

• General graphic design for labels and trims. 

• Textile Design ... if it is within your skill set

• Occasional Social Media content ... if that's something that you enjoy

• The role can also grow with you and we are open to working with and incorporating any awesome design skills you might have into this role.

• The position will be an in-house role located in Alexandria, Sydney. 7-10 min walk from Green Square station.

This is a casual role and will be paid by the hour using Australia award.

INTERN - SPORTSWEAR DESIGNER & PRODUCT DEVELOPER 

​

Are you studying fashion or textile design and looking for hands on industry experience before you complete your study?
 

We are looking for a design and product development intern to work with us 1 day per week for 3-6 months with casual employment potential.

​

Ideally you have a few awesome skills to share with us, like garment illustration, fashion or graphic design ideas and are also keen to learn and help out our small team.

​

In turn, we will spend time teaching you about the active sportswear industry, give you industry related tasks and help you 

learn what's required to take an idea through the research > design > product development and the production cycle.

​

• The role can also grow with you and we are open to working with and incorporating any awesome design skills you might have into this role.

• The position will be an in-house role located in Alexandria, Sydney. 7-10 min walk from Green Square station.
